1.1.Location, economy and trade
Slovenia is located between the Alps, the Adriatic and the Balkans, with the Port of Koper playing a material role. Its economy is strongly export-oriented, based on industry, services and EU linkages. In day-to-day operations, the strongest concentration of demand is around: Lublana, Koper, Maribor, Celje, Novo Mesto.
Trade is particularly connected with the following markets: Germany, Italy, Austria, Croatia and France. For transport, recurring industrial and distribution flows to and from the main economic hubs are the key factor.
The currency is the euro (EUR); in the euro area since 2007. Always confirm the exchange rate before pricing freight, tolls or ancillary costs.
