1.1.Location, economy and trade
Slovakia is located in Central Europe, close to the EU’s main industrial corridors. Its economy is strongly export-oriented, based on industry, services and EU linkages. In day-to-day operations, the strongest concentration of demand is around: Bratysława, Żylina, Koszyce, Nitra, Trnawa.
Trade is particularly connected with the following markets: Germany, Czechia, Poland, Hungary and Austria. For transport, recurring industrial and distribution flows to and from the main economic hubs are the key factor.
The currency is the euro (EUR); in the euro area since 2009. Always confirm the exchange rate before pricing freight, tolls or ancillary costs.
