1.1.Location, economy and trade
Latvia is located on the Baltic Sea, with links to Scandinavia, Poland and the Baltic states. Its economy is diversified, based on industry, services and logistics. In day-to-day operations, the strongest concentration of demand is around: Ryga, Liepāja, Ventspils, Daugavpils, Jelgava.
Trade is particularly connected with the following markets: Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, Sweden and Netherlands. For transport, recurring industrial and distribution flows to and from the main economic hubs are the key factor.
The currency is the euro (EUR); in the euro area since 2014. Always confirm the exchange rate before pricing freight, tolls or ancillary costs.
