1.1.Location, economy and trade
Lithuania is located on the Baltic Sea, with links to Scandinavia, Poland and the Baltic states. Its economy is strongly export-oriented, based on industry, services and EU linkages. In day-to-day operations, the strongest concentration of demand is around: Wilno, Kowno, Kłajpeda, Szawle, Poniewież.
Trade is particularly connected with the following markets: Germany, Latvia, Poland, Netherlands and Sweden. For transport, recurring industrial and distribution flows to and from the main economic hubs are the key factor.
The currency is the euro (EUR); in the euro area since 2015. Always confirm the exchange rate before pricing freight, tolls or ancillary costs.
