1.1.Location, economy and trade
Kosovo is located in South-East Europe, on routes connecting the Balkans with EU markets. Its economy is developing, centred on trade, services and construction. In day-to-day operations, the strongest concentration of demand is around: Prisztina, Prizren, Peć, Mitrowica, Gnjilane.
Trade is particularly connected with the following markets: Germany, Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey. For transport, recurring industrial and distribution flows to and from the main economic hubs are the key factor.
The currency is the euro (EUR); used unilaterally since 2002; Kosovo is not a member of the euro area. Always confirm the exchange rate before pricing freight, tolls or ancillary costs.
